EMHS president and CEO, M. Michelle Hood is pleased to announce that Scott Oxley, vice president and chief operating officer (COO) for Acadia Hospital, has accepted the role of EMHS senior vice president and president of Acadia Hospital.

For the past 24 years, Oxley has been a valuable and highly skilled member of the EMHS team. Prior to joining the EMHS family in 1993, Oxley worked for two national accounting firms, Ernst & Young and KPMG Peat Marwick.

Hood shares, “During his tenure with us, Scott has led many organizational optimization projects at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, Affiliated Healthcare, and Acadia Hospital to ensure, as a system, we continue to best meet the needs of our patients. His inspiring leadership qualities and extensive experience and expertise in business, finance, and patient care administration, positions him well to successfully lead Acadia Hospital into the future.”

Oxley is a certified public accountant, holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Maine, and a bachelor's degree in public accounting from Husson University. In addition, he is a graduate of both the Bangor Region Leadership Institute and the Daniel Hanley Center for Health Leadership. He is currently active in a number of civic organizations in addition to volunteering many years as a Boy Scout leader and coach of youth athletics.
